The Custom Design Process

When you choose Charlie Paper for your event stationery needs, you’re getting to work directly with someone who truly cares about the final product as much as you do. I personally handle all aspects of every order, ensuring you the meticulous attention to detail and top-notch customer service you deserve. The design process is enjoyable and relaxed as
we work closely to tailor each piece to perfection. The end result is a beautiful invitation suite that will
impress your guests and have you beaming with pride.


Getting to Know You

Before getting started on your custom project, I will ask for all kinds of details about your event. Over email, phone, or coffee we'll talk about the feel of your event, your colors, table arrangements, inspiration images, budget and more. Once we have all the details, we'll talk about process, design, printing methods, and paper options.

Estimate

After our initial consultation, I will put together a personalized estimate that outlines the costs associated with different printing options if needed, paper stocks, and other materials. 

Deposit and Agreement

After you have had a chance to review your estimate, and if you would like to move forward, a 50% deposit is due up front (payable by cash, check, or paypal) and there is a brief contract you'll sign online. Upon payment of the deposit and signed contract, you will be asked to submit your wording for the various pieces of your invitation suite. 

Designing and Proofing

The fun part begins! Please allow 1-2 weeks for the initial design creation. At the end of this period, an electronic proof (pdf) will be sent to you via email. This proof will contain the unique design concept for
your invitation. After you’ve had a chance to review your proof, you may request any revisions needed. Revision requests must be sent via email. 

Final Approval and Payment

When you are 100% happy with your invitation, please send me an email noting your final approval. Keep in mind that while I will try to catch any errors if at all possible, proofreading is ultimately the client's responsibility. Please proof, proof, proof and make sure all of your information is certain before we go to press. Reprinting any part of your invitations will be an additional fee if errors are discovered after production begins. Your final payment is also due at this time and must be paid before print production begins. Upon final approval and payment, no further changes can be made.

Printing

After the final invoice is paid, your invitations go to print. Print time depends on the project, however it usually takes about 2-3 weeks. Additional time may be necessary if unique materials must be sourced.

Shipping

Invitations are shipped immediately after printing. While assembly is available for $1 per suite, clients are responsible for stamping and mailing. They will be sent to the shipping address provided during the initial consultation. You will receive tracking information so you can follow your order every step of the way!
